YEAR 11 COLLECTION OF RESULTS

GCSE RESULTS DAY - THURSDAY 20 AUGUST 2020
9.00am and 12.00pm according to your form time slot

Currently, we will be inviting students onto the school site to collect their GCSE results. Should Government guidelines change between now and then, we will contact you with revised arrangements, and have plans ready to make results available to students online if necessary. We will be operating a hierarchy of controls to minimise contact and mixing as far as possible:

  • Any student or family member who has coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms should not come onto the school site.
  • Students will be required to wash their hands when they come onto the school site. They can also access hand sanitiser dispensers that have been installed on the school site.
  • Students should ensure good respiratory hygiene by following the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it approach’.
  • The school will ensure that frequently touched surfaces are cleaned frequently.

Students should walk or cycle to school where possible. Parents should be aware of the government guidance for use of public transport, which includes the compulsory use of face coverings:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-safer-travel-guidance-for-passengers
Students who are using public transport should allow sufficient time for their journey, taking into account the limited capacity of trains and buses. Students are encouraged to walk to school from Kingston rather than waiting for a bus. Students will need to complete a number of additional tasks when they come into school and so should allow an hour to do this. These will include:

  • Handwashing
  • Collection of GCSE results
  • Possible discussion with Sixth Form staff re. option choices
  • Book Return (please also bring a pen)
  • Emptying lockers
  • Collection of year books and hoodies

Students will be expected to have left the school site by 12 noon. Parents will not be able to come into the school building. Parents will be able to wait for students on the footpath or the front field. They are asked to observe social distancing guidelines when waiting outside the school. All Year 11 students have a conditional offer to join our Sixth Form. Once they have received their results, they will need to confirm whether they wish to take up their place in our Sixth Form, or whether they are moving to a new institution.

If you already know that you will be away and not able to collect your own results, you can email Mrs Urquhart before the end of term to nominate a friend or relative to collect them on your behalf. If you find that in that week you, or any of your family, are isolating, you will need to email so that alternative arrangements can be put in place.

Regretfully it will not be possible to give results out over the telephone. Please keep checking your school email account just in case these arrangements have to be changed.

YEAR 13 RESULTS DAY INFORMATION

THURSDAY 13 AUGUST 2020
9.00am - 1.00pm

Please see above for the hierarchy of controls and travel advice that will also apply on A-Level results day. Similarly, parents will not be allowed into school as above.

Year 13 students can arrive on site from 9.00am. We do not propose to stagger arrival times based on tutor groups or similar, as students may need to speak to staff quickly after receiving their results to get advice and support for securing their university places. We trust that students will adhere as far as possible to social distancing measures. Students will need to complete a number of additional tasks when they come into school and so should allow an hour to do this. These will include:
• Handwashing
• Collection of A-Level results
• Possible advice and support from Sixth Form team re. university outcomes
• Emptying lockers where necessary and returning locker keys
• Collection of leavers’ yearbooks and hoodies

If you have checked UCAS early that morning and you are not holding any offers from your chosen universities, then you may come in from 8.00am if you wish to start looking in clearing as soon as possible.

We strongly advise that you collect your results in person on the day, in case there are any issues over university places. If you already know that you will be away on holiday on the date, you can email Mrs Urquhart before the end of term to nominate a friend or relative to collect them on your behalf. If you find in that week that you, or any of your family, are isolating then you will need to email so that alternative arrangements can be made. Regretfully it will not be possible to give out results over the telephone. Please keep checking your school email account just in case these arrangements have to be changed.

We look forward to seeing you all.
